Phinge™ is developing a first of its kind software platform including an OS, cloud solution and consumer, business and social media applications. This will complement our state of the art mobile phones, tablets hybrids and peripherals. You have 5+ years’ experience writing developer-facing documentation and other forms of technical content.
You are highly organized, self-motivated and love to bring order to chaos.
You ask the right questions and get the right details from highly technical and very busy people.
You have previous experience with and know your way around wikis (Confluence), blogs (wpengine), and GitHub.
You have tackled internal and external documentation projects that have made life easier for developers of all experience levels.
You’re not afraid of adjusting to changes midstream and are excited about using your creativity to solve problems.
Beneficial experience: Managing a team of technical writers across multiple locations.
Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, special reports, and any other customer deliverables and documents
Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and USPS specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style
Assists in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations
Excellent written communication skills are required
Performs graphics design; plans, lays out and illustrates technical or scientific materials in black and white or color
Interfaces with users to determine scope of project and best graphic medium
Executes graphic projects and coordinates and schedules production
Performs production or coordinates production with outside vendors as needed
Operates and sets up computer graphic system
Familiar with commonly-used art media and commercially available graphics packages
Candidate must be able to work alone and closely with team members while maintaining a willingness to learn.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must
Organized and experienced at successfully multi-tasking
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong working knowledge of MadCap Flare
Strong working knowledge of all Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, and Illustrator
University degree in technical writing, English, journalism, communications, or computer science
Experience working in the manufacturing sector
Experience using Microsoft SharePoint as a document management system
Experience using Microsoft Visio to create diagrams and flowcharts
